Course Description:

The purpose of this course is to explore the cultural, theoretical, and practical aspects of effective cross-cultural communication. Attention is given to the significance of acceptance of diverse cultures, values, ethnocentricity, verbal and non-verbal communication, and the dynamics of change. Participants will develop a personalized framework for effective cross-cultural communication.

Gord Sawatzky

Gord Sawatzky holds an MA from Providence Theological Seminary and a D.Miss. from Western Seminary (Portland). He has been a missionary pilot-mechanic with the Northern Canada Evangelical Mission (1980-82).

Gord and his wife Karen have served with Africa Inland Mission a missionary pilot-mechanic in Kenya and Zaire (1982-1992), church planter, trainer, administrator in Zaire, Tanzania and Uganda (1992-2002) and trainer, pilot, mechanic, and administrator for south Sudan (2002-2007). He currently serves as the South Sudan Team Leader with the Africa Inland Mission.
