Local Ethnic-Specific Practicum (3 credits)

  • September to December 2012

  • A tailor-made, 3 month practicum in a Toronto ethnic-specific church family where participants will have an opportunity to serve, learn and grow under the mentorship of an ethnic ministry leader.

Global Ministry Methods & Disciplines and Spiritual Formation Mondays (3 credits)

  • September 5-8, 2012

  • This course focuses on preparing you for cross-cultural ministry by presenting foundational material essential for growth, time for interaction and reflection, supervision and evaluation. Spiritual Formation Mondays run from September through to December on designated Mondays.

Urban Realities & Strategies (3 credits)

  • Thursdays: Sept. 13, 20, 27; Oct. 4, 11, 26; Nov. 1, 8, 22, 29; Dec. 6 & 13 2012

  • Urbanization has become a major factor in missions. Develop models of ministry suited to urban peoples, social structures and city systems.

  • Adapt church planting principles of growth from the 1st century to the 21st century context.

Perspectives (3 credits)

  • Begins September 10, 2012 (once/week for 15 weeks)

  • Discover God's global purposes from Genesis to Revelation and how you can be involved in the world of missions. On Mondays 7:00—9:30pm.

Ethnography: Overseas (3 credits)

  • January — April 2013

  • Learn techniques to write a study (ethnography) based on face-to-face interaction with a group of people different from you. Using insights gained through ethnographic study, you will know better how to present the Gospel relevantly to the people with whom you are working.

Global Ethnic-Specific Internship: Overseas (6 credits)

  • January — April 2013

  • A tailor-made, 3 month internship in an overseas cross-cultural setting where participants will have opportunity to serve, learn and grow under the mentorship of a mission's leader.
